How To Install A WordPress Blog
This tutorial will show you how to set up a WordPress Blog on your eVentureBiz web hosting account. WordPress is an open source (free) online blog program that installs easily on your eVentureBiz web hosting account and is included in your Elefante Scripts.
Installation is just a few clicks and the process is all automated for you.
We strive to keep all our scripts up to date with their latest versions, however, new versions of software are released virtually every day. Therefore, although your account includes the WordPress script, it is recommended that one of the first things you do after installing WordPress is installing an automatic WordPress upgrade plugin.
An easy to use and automatic WordPress plugin can be found by clicking here.
Our help is available. If you own an eVentureBiz web hosting account and need help with the installation of any scripts we provide, such as WordPress, simply go to your control panel and open a new support ticket. We are here to assist with the installation process.

Step 1 - Create a directory
First we will need to create a directory to place your WordPress files into. Log into your eVentureBiz Control Panel and using the file manager, go to the directory where you want your blog installed and create a new subfolder. In the example below, the directory we will be installing our blog into is called, blog.
![]() This tutorial was done when we set up a blog called the Neptune Lounge (no longer running). By creating the subfolder blog and installing all our files in there, our blog's web address will read: http://www.eventurebiz.com/relaxcafe/neptune_lounge/blog |
Step 2 - Click back to the main menu Click the top left area to link back to the main menu.

Step 3 - Open Elefante Scripts Locate the menu item pictured below and click on it.

Step 4 - Choose WordPress for installation
|
Step 5 - Click Install A pop-up box will appear and you can now click Install WordPress. Don't worry if the version is not the latest version, you can always upgrade using the automatic WordPress upgrade plugin.
|
Step 6 - Database and Install Details A) If you already have a database you wish to use, select it (pictured in STEP 1 in the picture below) and skip ahead to Step 9 of this tutorial. - or - B) If you don't already have a database set up, click the Create a new database link in STEP 1. A new window will pop up and follow the directions in the next steps below.
|
Step 7 - Creating a database After you click "Create a new database" from step 6 above, a new window will pop up where you can create the new database. The picture below should be what you would be looking at. Simply give your database a name (in this example we typed the word "space" in that field) and create a password. When you've finished filling in the 3 fields below, click Add SQL Database. You should then see a congratulations screen telling you that you have successfully created a database.
|
Step 8 - Refresh database list Now click back to the window with the Installation Wizard showing and click Refresh database list. You should then see your new database listed. Be sure to select it and then move on to the next step.
|
Step 9 - Fill in the installation details Fill in the details shown below. Be sure for the Path: field you type in the path of the directory you created in step 1 of this tutorial. Don't type in the entire web address. In other words, instead of typing in http://www.eventurebiz.com/relaxcafe/neptune_lounge/blog for the path, we'd simply type /relaxcafe/neptune_lounge/blog Then click the STEP 3: Install button below.
|
Step 10 - You're done! Congrats! You just installed WordPress all on your own. There should have been an email sent to you with your username, password, and WordPress Login page (be sure to bookmark that page).
|
Step 11 - Log into WordPress The screen which contains the picture in step 10 should show the link to your WordPress login page. There should have also been an email sent to you with that information as well.
