No. Not really. Maybe a little if anything, but that's probably because the tingling feeling it made simply made me not concentrate on my headache as much. It feels the same as rubbing Ben-Gay on your skin.

As far as online/offline human behaviors go, it just so happens I wrote an article about how people read websites and then I use what we have learned to examine my blog . . . why I put this there and that over there.

It's not a blog article so that's probably why you haven't seen it. It's in the Relax Cafe's Entrepreneur's Lounge. It's not a blog article because, well, you never know what you might find if you dig through my website.

Anyway, here's the link to the article:

Did the Head On stuff really work? I've always wondered about that.

I hear ya on being outrageous. It's one thing to be different and stand out from the crowd, but it's another standing out and being obnoxious as hell.

I've seen a lot of blog designs that have tried to be so "different" they've gone beyond the bounds of good taste. You've got a point about OL and RL behavior being different. There's a whole other set of rules going on. This might sound like a stupid question, but as a marketer, what are some of those differences that you see?

Well . . . it doesn't get much tackier than that! I agree.

I also hate those Head On commercials but like you, I do remember it and have even tried it once when I was at the store and had a headache. If it wasn't for that commercial I would have never bought it.

I understand how being odd or outrageous can be a good thing but for myself, I just can't do it to that extent, you feel me?

I don't think a website could be designed in such an outrageous way and get away with it. Human behavior online is TOTALLY different than human behavior in the outside world.

OMG! John! That's....that's tacky even by Vegas standards! I can think of some television commercials that do the same thing. Like that "Head On" commercial. It stands out, the colors are awful, it's annoying - but I remember it!
