Google’s PageRank: We All Love It, We All Hate It

Some people pay a lot of attention to it. They toss and turn in bed at 3am thinking, what else could I do?
What is it that soaks their pillows at night with sweat?
PageRank – our official stamp of approval our buddy Googlebot gives our sites.
Some people work really hard at obtaining a good PageRank while others ignore it and just focus on what they do; and if a good PageRank comes of it, so be it.
My philosophy is I write for my website’s visitors and not search engines; however, I try not to do anything that would piss off our little friend, Googlebot. When creating a title I make sure to put them in those header tags search engines love so much.
The eVentureBiz Community Forum has a sub-forum titled “Search Engine Optimization” where I posted a topic about the best kinds of sites to exchange links with. This can help your Google’s PageRank if done right.
Linx, a blog subscriber and new forum member, replied to my post and asked me if I knew of any other ways to help increase your site’s PageRank besides the reciprocal link method.
So I just started typing out a few ideas and this post was the result.

Hi John,
Page rank……It does make me wonder why so many get hung up on this. I realize it may help to rank higher in the SERP’s, but quality content and keyword phrases will do the same thing.
Anytime we start writing for the search engines, we risk sacrificing the quality of our work. So even if we have a high page rank, if what we write doesn’t attract visitors (and make them want to stay/subscribe), all that work is for naught.

Exactly. The funny way it works is the more real and useful you are to people, and not necessarily search engines, the more links you may get - which in turn ups your PageRank.
Isn’t that one of Issac Newton’s Laws or something?
