Create Yourself A Shortcut - How To E-Mail, Blog, and Text On The Go!
Ever feel like there’s not enough time in the day to complete your tasks?
Is there a short cut?
I recently read an interview of an online buddy of mine, Harrison McLeod, on Dave Navarro’s Million Dollar Leverage blog. Dave is a time management coach for many entrepreneurs and in the comment section of Harry’s interview Dave encouraged me to take a little time each day and devote it to honing my time management skills.
Taking his advice, I spent a little time this morning surfing the Internet for ways to shave a little time off my schedule by using shortcuts. I came across this service called, Jott.
It allows you to send text messages and emails right from your phone. It can even be linked to your blog so you can speak your blog’s content right onto the computer. Talking about speeding up your workload! I don’t know about you but I speak much faster than I type. And with an ear piece, I can send my emails from anywhere at anytime.
Probably the best feature, and benefit, this service provides business owners is its mobility.
Pretty cool, I think. If anyone’s tried it, how’s it work? I’d like to know.

This is cool stuff John. Ian Denny also uses something similar here in the UK to send blogposts from his phone. I love these tools that save time.

I’ll check out Ian’s site, never been there before (I don’t think). And UK, huh. I LOVED England. Went to London and Canterbury back in 2000. I have a cousin that lives over there. My wife really wants me to take her.
@RLD - I think it does work with a cell phone. I think you set up something like a voice mail box which you call into and it allows you to tell it to do stuff. Sounds interesting.

Hi John,
I saw your comments on Catherine’s blog and decided to visit yours, as well.
This Jott thing looks pretty amazing. I have used the recorder on my cell phone, but this is far more advanced than that. A actually don’t like to talk and drive at the same time, but I could see myself using this if I was on vacation.
Like you, I would like to hear testimonials from those who actually use it.
BTW: I checked out your “About Me” page. I like your philosophy. It’s all about karma, isn’t it?

Yes - helping others only helps yourself and good karma never hurts!
Right now, Jott is something the ‘curious’ people are probably using (See my post, Seth Godin - My Marketing Hero). I’m curious about it, but I’m not there just yet. I have a system I use now that works for me but I can see how Jott could improve my efficiency some.
Using it on vacation is a great idea. They should consider advertising that angle.
By the way, I also took a peek at your site. I think my readers might find your Search Engine Optimization articles handy (among others).

Amen! I am the biggest Jott fan…
Not only does it serve as my ubiquitous capture device…but I can post to my blogger…twitter with it and send appointments to my google calendar.
I would also give a shout out to Google411. I have it on my speed dial and it has helped me a bunch on the road.
